A group of local people concerned about the phenomenon known as chemtrails are holding a public meeting at the Italo Club next Wednesday, April 27, from 7pm.

A spokesperson for the group (who did not wish to be named) said chemtrails are “chemical vapours in the sky that consist of strontium, varium, aluminium and titanium that are affecting our immune system”. There are numerous conspiracy theories about where they come from and who is responsible for them and the aim of the talk is to “empower and educate the local community and give them tools to help themselves.”

There will be numerous speakers on the night (who also didn’t want their names in print) and videos from prominent chemtrail activists including former FBI chief Ted Gunderson and IRS agent Joe Bannister.

Suggested donation for entry is $10.

Short Life Expectancy for BP Whistleblowers?

The investigation, if it can properly be so called, of the unsolved murder of the former high ranking Pentagon official and presidential advisor John P. Wheeler III, who was also an expert on chemical and biological weapons, may be taking a turn in the direction of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

Wheeler, 67, a West Point grad, was beaten and thrown into a garbage dumpster. His body was discovered in a Wilmington, Del. landfill last New Year’s weekend. Both police detectives and news commentators described it as “an apparent hit,” but little else was ever learned, and no suspects have surfaced.

There was great speculation by many at the time that Wheeler had begun to blow the whistle on the mysterious bird and fish deaths in Arkansas and Texas, and was about to expose the facts tying this to the chemtrails seen in our skies over the past decade.

Now the speculation may be reverting to British Petroleum and the gulf spill because a number of other BP whistle blowing scientists, before and since the Wheeler murder, have also died mysteriously, been jailed on questionable charges or disappeared without a trace.

Matthew Simmons, 67, a former energy advisor to President George W. Bush and admired among survivalist groups for his dire warnings on the upcoming commodity and fuel shortages about to hit this nation, died in his hot tub in Maine last August. Simmons had been gaining popularity as a whistle blower for blaming BP for its covered-up responsibility in defacing and vandalizing the Gulf of Mexico while hiding the truth from the general public.

Only four days later, Ted Stevens, the 87-year-old defrocked senator from Alaska, said to have received communications regarding BP’s faulty blowout preventer, perished in a plane crash. British Petroleum had donated $1 million to the University of Alaska to catalog the papers from Stevens’s long political career.

Roger Grooters began a cross country bike ride in Oceanside, Calif. on Sept. 10 to draw attention to the Gulf Coast oil disaster. On Oct. 6, in front of the horrified eyes of his wife, who was trailing in a support vehicle, Grooters was struck by a truck and killed instantly in Panama City, Fla.

Only a month later, Dr. Geoffrey Gardner of Lakeland, Fla. disappeared. He was investigating the unexplained bird deaths near Sarasota that are suspected to have been caused by the BP oil disaster. No one has heard from or spoken with him since.

On Nov. 15, Chitra Chaunhan was found dead of cyanide poisoning in a Temple Terrace, Fla. hotel. It was officially ruled a suicide. She worked in the Center for Biological Defense and Global Health Infectious Disease Research and left behind a husband and five-year-old child.

The following week, James Patrick Black, director of operations for BP’s restoration organization for the oil spill, died near Destin, Fla. in a small plane crash.

Dr. Thomas B. Manton was one of the first to warn the public that far more oil than what BP had reported was gushing into the gulf every day and that the massive, toxic oil and chemical plumes would travel up the eastern seaboard, contaminating beaches and wildlife all the way.

“Once the winds change, it will come eastward and pollute the beaches of the west coast of Florida, and the ‘loop current’ could carry this oil spill right around Florida, through the Florida Keys and pollute the east coast of Florida as well,” Manton wrote on May 28, 2010.

Dr. Tom Termotto, national coordinator of the Gulf Oil Spill Remediation Conference, says Manton was murdered in prison. Manton had been sentenced to 15 years last August on a phony child pornography charge. Termotto and others say evidence was planted on his computer.

It is not known whether or not Anthony Nicholas Tremonte, 31, posed any threat to BP, but he too was arrested in January and charged with one count of possession of child pornography. Was this charge also faked? As an officer with the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources on the Gulf Coast, he may have known enough to qualify him for membership in this exclusive series of coincidences. He faces up to 40 years in prison if convicted.

THE GREENS yesterday called for government funding to investigate suspected contamination caused by alleged chemtrails in Cypriot skies.

The party have also launched on their website an online petition calling for a proper investigation into the chemtrail phenomenon (http://www.greenpartycy.com/el/our-news/2009-10-29-12-19-08/campaign-against-chemtrails-in-cyprus.html).

“We demand the government keep its promise and examine the possible consequences to the health of residents and the environment from chemtrails created by aircraft taking off from the British Bases in combination with the experimental operation of the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Programme (HAARP) within the Akrotiri British Bases and in Cyprus airspace in general,” party head Ioanna Panayiotou said.

The chemtrail theory holds that some trails left by aircraft are actually chemical or biological agents deliberately sprayed at high altitudes for a purpose undisclosed to the general public in clandestine programmes directed by government officials. The existence of chemtrails has been repeatedly denied by government agencies and scientists around the world, who say the trails are normal contrails, or condensation trails made by the exhaust of aircraft engines.

The Greens said the government made a commitment to the House Environment Committee in March 2009 to conduct an in-depth study of these accusations. A bi-ministerial technical committee was subsequently formed for this purpose.

The technical committee, the Greens added, “dissolved mysteriously” after only a few sessions.

“We demand that the government adopts our proposal to finance an independent study that will take samples and chemically analyse the substances included in these chemical trails,” said Panayiotou.

Campaign Against Chemtrails’ Yiannos Alexandrou said observations of high-altitude aircraft in Cypriot skies leaving the characteristic trails were on the rise.

Research director at Greece’s National Centre of Scientific Research, chemist Nicolaos Katsaros said soil samples taken in Greece showed traces of aluminium and barium – substances that are neurotoxic to humans and poison the food chain.

“They are the new Weapons of Mass Destruction,” he said.

Katsaros ascribes to the theory – one of a multitude – that chemtrails are being used for covert climate control. According to this theory, chemtrails contain metal particles which reflect sunlight away from earth to combat global warming.

In October last year, Cyprus was represented at the Nagoya conference in Japan, where the 193-member UN Convention on Biological Diversity passed a resolution calling for a moratorium on geoengineering projects and experiments. The resolution called for a halt to any private or public experimentation intended to manipulate the planetary thermostat.

CHEMTRAILS appeared in the skies above Paphos on Sunday, during an event held by the Green Party to raise awareness of the phenomena, organisers said.

Green Party member and Peyia councillor Linda Leblanc said the timing was perfect. “As we were holding a demonstration at Paphos harbour to raise awareness of this problem, chemtrails were clearly visible in the sky.”

“I’m telling people to wake up and look up,” she added.

The term chemtrail is derived from "chemical trail" in the same way as contrail is an abbreviation for the condensation trail left by commercial aircraft. Chemtail spraying does not refer to common forms of aerial spraying such as crop dusting, cloud seeding or aerial firefighting. The trail is also criss-cross rather than straight like a flight path.

Chemtrails specifically refer to these aerial trails allegedly caused by the systematic high-altitude release of chemical substances not found in ordinary contrails, resulting in the appearance of supposedly uncharacteristic sky tracks.

Supporters of the theory speculate that the purpose of the chemical release may be for global dimming, population control, weather control, or biological warfare/chemical warfare and claim that these trails are causing respiratory illnesses and other health problem

Detractors – including the British bases, which have been accused of being the culprits - however say the trails are nothing more than condensation trails or contrails which form when exhaust gases from passing passenger jet engines combine with very cold, humid air at high altitude.”

Leblanc said: “You can recognise a chemtrail as they are wider than contrails, they are grid-like or criss- crossed in appearance and they spread out.”

According to the Greens, spraying of suspicious substances was taking place over Cyprus on a daily basis by aircraft which operate with no specific flight plan.

Green’s spokesman, and deputy, George Perdikis, stressed the need for high-level investigation into the phenomena during Sunday’s event where participants gave out information leaflets .

Perdikis said he hoped this would help to put pressure on the Cyprus government to investigate the matter. He also underlined the need for chemical analysis of the areas being sprayed.

“The British and the Americans are serving their own agenda and this agenda has nothing to do with the good of this country,” he said.

Petros Theodisiou, the representative of the committee against chemical spraying said that even yesterday, chemtrails were still visible in the sky to the naked eye. He was concerned that the chemicals would find a way into the food chain, if they had not already.

Leblanc, who believes the spraying may be connected with manipulating the weather, said: “We don’t want to scare people but we do want to make them aware of what is going on and to make them aware of the need for information to be made public. It’s all very secretive.”

"If you look at the sky right now in St. Augustine Florida it is filled with criss-crossing pluming chem-trails. It's absolutely obvious that they are chem-trails. I look at the sky all the time and jets do not normally leave any kind of trail. Just a little behind them as the pass and a few seconds later it goes completely away. The trails that are being left today by the jets not only are not going away, but they are getting bigger and bigger spreading into huge plumes. How can anyone argue that is normal?! I see these trails every few weeks in the sky here and it makes me so sad."

It is now 7:05 PM. The N/W quadrant of the HAARP ring in your posting earlier has now broke out into tornadoes and flat line winds with danger warnings posted.

C. wow... thanks! So please explain what these little green/blue dots are. Radar towers/stations? The looked measles or chicenkpox! Yet in some areas there are none. The southeast has them all the time is seems, almost equally spaced apart. What does haarp do? what is the connection to the dots?

B. The measles pockets are EMP initiators were energized in and on chem clouds of trails setting up the barium/aluminum fragments and nano dust. This makes the energized portion of the clouds relative with the HAARP and other selected RF signals. Therefore creating a control of that cloud system. Different combinations of signals do different things to different portions of the cloud mass. Result is the temperature changes and the end results become visible as weather fronts and terrible storms. Hence ...engineered weather.

High-flying planes are leaving plumes of chemical-laden clouds that spread across the sky, then fall to the earth. Unlike contrails that disappear soon after they leave the plane, these hang around. They may contribute to the increase in respiratory illnesses and dementia.

A new website carries pictures of chemtrails from throughout the province. Below is one of several shots submitted by Eva Lyman of Celista. The aim of the website is "to monitor and track the criminal toxic chemical spraying of Beautiful British Columbia's land and people."

Since 1997 when they first appeared over Salmon Arm and Vancouver, I have been the only one who has been exposing them in this column in my newspaper. Many people thought I was a kook. Some still do.

Are chemtrails killing nature’s creatures? On New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, 2010, 5,000 red-winged blackbirds dropped out of the sky in Beebe, Arkansas. In England, tens of thousands of dead crabs washed up on local beaches, and reports came in almost daily of penguins, turtles, and even dolphins dying unexpectedly in the wild.

In Jan. 2011, dead birds fell from the sky above Arkansas, Louisiana and Sweden, and 83,000 dead fish were washed ashore on Chesapeake Bay in Maryland.

Eva Lyman has a home in Celeste, a small community on Shuswap Lake, B.C. in the south central region of the province. She is very concerned about quality of life and the air above this once pristine region of the province prior to commencement of chemtrail spraying.

“The above silvery clouds all started like the thin trail behind the plane. This is right over my house in southern British Columbia, Canada. The gorgeous lake scene is nearby.

Our Province prides itself on being “super, natural”, but these phenomena are not natural, they are man made, and more and more evidence is coming out that they are not good for our health.

Whoever is creating this artificial cloud cover, and whatever their reasons, this has to stop. The metals, such as aluminum and arsenic, are changing the chemical balance of the soils, causing respiratory diseases, and what for? To slow down the greenhouse effect? Sounds suspiciously like something coming from “military intelligence” (oxymoron).

These people should be brought before an international tribunal, and tried for mass murder and endangerment of life on earth.

Regarding the letter from G. Masuda [Citizen, March 23] about the contrails seen high above us, who has caused them, what effect is it having on the soil of our planet?

Could it be that chemical companies, who are tight-lipped about this, is doing so under the guise of "global warming'' while these falling chemicals are changing the soil Ph?

Do these insane people realize that they too live on this planet!

Who rents the tanker planes to them, who supplies the aviation fuel, what companies service these planes and where is this service carried out for them to do such nefarious deeds?

It has to be with the consent of major governments. If it is so benign why the total secrecy? Also the lack of comment by our tight-lipped Canadian government in Ottawa.

As we can see, our climate is not a bit as it was some 10 years ago.

Contrails Worse for Climate Change Than Airplane Emissions

Air travel has come under fire for its potential contributions to climate change. Most people probably assume that its impact comes through carbon emissions, given that aircraft burn significant amounts of fossil fuel to stay aloft. But the carbon released by air travel remains a relatively minor part of the global output—the impact of planes results from where they burn the fuel, not the mere fact that they burn it. A study in the brand-new journal Nature Climate Change reinforces that by suggesting that the clouds currently being generated by air travel have a larger impact on the climate than the cumulative emissions of all aircraft ever flown.

That fact isn’t mentioned in the article at all, however (it’s part of a Nature press release on the paper). What the authors do consider is the fact that carbon emissions are only one of the impacts of aviation. Others include the emissions of particulates high in the atmosphere, the production of nitrogen oxides, and the direct production of clouds through contrail water vapor. Over time, these thin lines of water evolve into “contrail cirrus” clouds that lose their linear features and become indistinguishable from the real thing. Although low-altitude clouds tend to cool the plant by reflecting sunlight, high altitude clouds like cirrus have an insulating effect and actually enhance warming.

To figure out the impact of these cirrus clouds, the authors created a module for an existing climate model (the ECHAM4) that simulated the evolution of aircraft-induced cirrus clouds (they could validate some of the model’s output against satellite images of contrails). They found hotspots of these clouds over the US and Europe, as well as the North Atlantic travel corridor; smaller affects were seen in east Asia and over the northern Pacific. Over central Europe, values peaked at about 10 percent, in part because the output of the North Atlantic corridor drifted in that direction.

On their own, the aircraft-generated cirrus produces a global climate forcing of about 40 milliWatts per square meter (in contrast, the solar cycle results in changes of about a full Watt/M²). But these clouds suppressed the formation of natural cirrus clouds, which partially offset the impact of the aircraft-generated ones, reducing the figure to about 30 mW/M². That still leaves it among the most significant contribution to the climate produced by aircraft.

Some reports (like one from UPI) have suggested we might focus on making engines that emit less water vapor, but the water is a necessary byproduct of burning hydrocarbon. We’ll almost certainly be accomplishing that as a result of rising fuel prices, and will limit carbon emissions at the same time. The nice thing is that, in contrast to the long atmospheric lifespan of CO₂, if we can cause any changes in cloud formation, they’ll have an impact within a matter of days.

PHOENIX – Most days of the year our state, and much of the planet, is crisscrossed with contrails from high flying jet aircraft.

A contrail will form behind a jet if the humidity is high enough and the temperature low enough for liquid water to condense.

The air needs to be supersaturated and the temperature generally below -40°F, something that typically occurs miles up in the atmosphere where jets fly.

Under those conditions, water vapor from the jet's exhaust and secondarily from the atmosphere condenses into water droplets. Very quickly these droplets freeze into the snow-white particles that bring the contrail to life.

How long a newly-formed condensation trail sticks around depends on the ambient humidity. If humidity is low, contrails will rapidly dissipate, looking like a comet's tail. The ice particles sublimate, meaning go straight from ice to vapor, and you're back to blue sky.

If humidity is high, however, contrails can persist and those are the ones that trouble climatologists.

One study showed the contrails from only six aircraft spread over 7,700 square miles.

We don’t really know how contrails impact our weather. One tantalizing study done for the three days after September 11, 2001, when there was no commercial aircraft traffic over the U.S., showed on average, daytime temperatures were 2 degrees warmer and nighttime temps were 2 degrees cooler. In other words, one impact of contrails may be decreasing temperature variability from day and night.

Chemtrails film troubling for audience

The chemtrails we have been seeing over Duncan since the 1980s has now been exposed by an investigative filmmaker. The film was troubling to the 40 to 50 individuals who attended the showing.

Last Thursday, the Eye-Opener film was What in the World Are They Spraying? It was about chemtrails seen over Duncan since the 1980s, over other Canadian cities, throughout the U.S., and Europe. To me, this film posed the following troubling aspects.

First is the violation of the precautionary principle which prevent experiments which could cause possible harm to humans or the environment. (A more thorough definition could be viewed on Wikipedia.)

Scientists in the film stated that research on effects of aluminum particles on humans are now only in the initial stages. The film also records other troubling effects resulting from the aluminum and barium from chemtrails on plants and animal life. The precautionary principle is being flagrantly violated by scientists working for governments.

The second troubling aspect is why we the people, who are being affected, have not been consulted or informed. It is not possible to get information out of our MPs and government departments which deny chemtrails exist. The inability to get official information is troubling. What has become of our democracy?

The third troubling aspect is the purpose of the chemtrail project. The stated reason is to try to cool the climate to avoid global warming. The accumulated cost of this multi-year, multi-country project must now be over a billion dollars. What secret purpose could justify such high continuing program costs? The secrecy surrounding this chemtrail project is troubling.

It is time for we the people to start asking questions and demanding answers of our MPs.

Weathering climate change with Napa Valley’s grapegrowers

Grapes drooped off the vine last summer like sacks of raisins.

Rows and rows of fruit shriveled as Will Drayton, a viticulturist at Treasury Wine Estates, examined them with dread. Low in sugar and high in acid, this type of grape, he said, “makes terrible wine.”

On each piece of fruit a brownish-pink spot pointed like an accusing finger in the direction of the sun.

“Whole blocks burned,” he said.

To adapt to global warming, Treasury and others who grow Napa Valley wine grapes have recently tweaked their growing techniques. The trend isn’t new — vineyards have been shifting toward “green” for decades. Change has been spurred on by anti-herbicide activism, Napa River restoration and worldwide sustainability movements.

In Napa, sustainable farming “is not just strictly an environmental thing,” Drayton said. “It makes healthier grapes.”

Adaptations range from cutting back on pesticides to increasing Napa River shade that cools down the water for endangered steelhead and salmon.

It takes a sophisticated grapegrower to juggle all the needs of land and water, experts say.

“There’s this notion that farmers aren’t smart,” said Laurel Marcus, executive director of the California Land Stewardship Institute in Napa, “and that’s just not true. It’s a combination of accidents and practical knowledge.”

Accidents such as the burned grapes have led grapegrowers to pursue research. The Napa Valley Vintners commissioned a study of global warming’s potential effects on the wine industry.

Because of earlier studies, they were worried the valley was warming. Instead, four years of research and 12,000 data reports later, scientists released surprising findings this winter: despite heat spikes, global warming may cause Napa Valley to cool down.

This doesn’t count as good news.

“Nobody wants to see anything change,” said Chris Howell, a member of the Napa Valley Vintners Climate Study Task Force. “We’ve been growing cabernet sauvignon over 100 years. Climate change is a global issue, but we will deal with it and live with it locally.”

To deal with climate change, Napa growers have changed their mindsets.

In a valley in the Stags Leap grapegrowing region, a blanket of grass and wildflowers weaves between gnarled vines that will one day bear petite sirah. California poppies, rose and crimson cloves, henbit, barley and pineapple weed — these make up the cover crop.

The bed of weeds serves as a compost, breaking down nitrogen in the soil so that vine roots can absorb it.

Nearby, a red-tailed hawk surveys the vineyard. It feeds off the mice, squirrels and insects supported by the cover crop in Stags Leap.

Growers weren’t always so laissez-faire.

Fifteen years ago, vineyards were doused with pesticides and scoured bare between the vinerows. Insects, weeds and pests were battled as archenemies of the holy vine.

Then, attitudes changed. Where the land was once bald, farmers left weeds and insects wild. Pesticide use was reined in.

Otherwise, “You kill off all the bugs you’re trying to kill as well as the beneficial insects that would be naturally controlling your pests,” Drayton said. “Then you’re stuck in a vicious cycle of trying to spray all the time.”

Over decades, this more holistic acceptance of wildlife has led to an overall attitude change still at play. Vineyard managers invited insects back by cultivating cover crop, built birdhouses and erected solar panels.

They have even sacrificed the bottom line.

Since 2004, Laurel Marcus has asked vineyard owners to slash vine rows to make way for the Napa River. They plant trees and expand shorelines where grapes — and, in turn, money — once grew.

Despite the revenue tradeoff in some cases, Napa Valley grapegrowers have signed up more than 50,000 acres to the voluntary California Land Stewardship program to improve agricultural practices.

“They have to see there’s a value in it for them,” Marcus said. “Vineyard managers know the environment around them. They know their creeks better than anyone else.”

At Treasury Estates, managers watched as the Napa River flooded regularly. “You couldn’t see the vines,” Drayton remembered. They donated 3.4 acres of the Beringer vineyard, which should alleviate their flooding problems in addition to helping the river.

The 55-mile Napa River erodes less with expanded shorelines and supports more biodiversity among riverside plants and animals.

Some grapegrowers cultivate their own biodiversity. They plant a variety of native species beside the Napa River to shade the water and cool it down to 60 to 65 degrees, the ideal temperature for salmon.

In Oakville, viticulturalist Katey Taylor bends down to examine the small seedlings the Robert Mondavi Winery planted beside the Tokalon Ranch stretch of the river.

“Snowberry,” she said, pointing to a white bulb. “California rose, coyote bush, monkey flower.”

Nearby, a birdhouse, one of 80 on the vineyard, welcomes bluebirds. Three years ago, the company also planted six hedgerows to shelter owls, raptors and songbirds on their 1,400 acres of vineyards.

“I think there’s been a shift,” she said, “of people recognizing we need to coexist with the vineyards and the land.”

But that sustainability can come with a steep price tag. Far Niente Winery paid $4.2 million in 2008 for 994 solar panels floating on their farm pond.

They didn’t pay millions just for an easy conscience, said Larry Maguire, president of the winery. The system was built “both for an economic reason and the socially responsible reason.”

The long-term investment is clear from their electric bill. Since April 2008, the company’s PG&E bill plummeted from $110,00 yearly to a more manageable number — $0.

The winery actually creates an excess of energy that cycles back to Pacific Gas & Electric’s grid. On a recent cloudy morning, the panels produced 229 kilowatts. The winery used 52.1 kilowatts at that moment and donated 176.9 to PG&E.

The electric company did pay the winery once — a one-time $1 million rebate — but there’s no additional financial incentive for the winery to save more energy than it already does.

If PG&E paid the company for its excess energy, “We would be encouraged to replace light bulbs in our cellars,” Maguire said.

Still, the winery already has financial reasons to invest in the environment and save energy. In Napa Valley, “We live in an economy where our revenue is based on the weather,” Maguire said. “We like the planet just the way it is.”

Instead, the planet has changed in increments.

In the Napa Valley, climate reports have shown nighttime temperatures shifting more than daytime highs. Overall, the nights have become slightly warmer by less than one degree over 60 years, according to the climate report commissioned by the Napa Valley Vintners.

The same geography that’s ideal for many wine grapes and keeps the temperature moderate might turn Napa into an anomaly of global warming.

Thanks to the Pacific Ocean, warmer temperatures in the Central Valley suck cool air into Napa Valley.

Yet the summer heat spikes persist.

“We have been very fortunate because of the marine influence and the dampening effect it has,” said Jim Verhey, director of Napa Valley Grapegrowers, “but what’s really happened is weather has gotten more extreme.”

Extreme highs — up to 114 degrees — shriveled many grapes in Napa Valley last summer. Will Drayton declared the majority of a vineyard block unfit for wine. It produced one ton of grapes per acre instead of the 3.5 tons it normally makes.

So in the same spirit of the solar panels and river bank restoration, Treasury Wine Estates adapted.

Growers replanted the desolate block where Drayton found shriveled grapes. They changed the orientation of their vine rows to northeast by southwest so that the sun doesn’t pound on the grapes at its summertime zenith.

To further shade the fruit, growers inserted “cross arms,” wires that encourage branches to bend over the grapes they produce, protecting them like an umbrella from the sun.

“How do we deal with a change in climate, short-term and long-term?” Verhey asked. “It’s hard.”

The once beautiful clear blue skies of Vernon have recently been taken over by hundreds of large airplanes littering our once pristine blue landscape with just as many chemtrails reminding us of their presence. Let’s not forget the faint odor of jet fuel making you question, "Do I really want my kids out in the yard, running playing and breathing in neurotoxins omitted from the emissions that fall from the skies in particulates so small they will never be seen by the human eye, but could enter children’s bodies in an instant and remain in their lungs forever, causing anything from asthma to cancer. Or maybe it will be the lead they will inhale from the avgas that a lot of the bigger planes are still using.

What a sad day it is that a community over 40 miles away from any major airport should be under siege from 747’s and Air Busses that can carry up to 500 people per flight. How is it that one day you are listening to the Red Shoulder Hawks scream with delight as they ride the wind over your development, only to wake the next morning to a Jumbo jet cruising over your home at 1700 feet? (Highland Lakes is 1300 feet above sea level; planes can fly as low as 3000 feet and they do.)

And what about property values in Vernon, especially Highland Lakes and Barry Lakes? Do you want to walk out your door and see an air show every day as long as you live here? I do not! By law a realtor must disclose flight path information, and once people are aware that Vernon now has very heavy air traffic over it, prospective buyers will be smart to take this intrusion into consideration before purchasing a home in our community. Yes, we have beautiful lakes, great ski resorts, and a huge water park, and some of the best golf courses. We have Bald Eagles and even endangered species such as the Red Shoulder Hawks and the Pileated Woodpeckers, Timber Rattlers and Bog Turtles, plenty of places to hike and fish, and a great school system, but all that taken into consideration since January 18th 2011 we also have hundreds—and I mean hundreds—of commuter and Jumbo Air Liners flying over our beautiful town every day.

We can call our Congressman Scott Garrett ask him to represent us. Mayor Sally Rinker and the council have directed the town manager to put a template letter on the Vernon township website see vernontwp.com Vernon residents are insisting that these new flights over Vernon be moved back to wherever they were prior to Jan 18, 2011. They were not here before and we cannot afford for them to be here now! The community must join together for this cause!

Vernon has had great moments of speaking out from the stopping of cell towers, to mothers laying down in front of dump trucks to stop soil contaminated with radon from being brought into Vernon in the 80’s. Vernon residents care and always have cared about Vernon. From the ground to the skies we must preserve the beauty and integrity of our town.

A growing number of Radiation Monitoring Stations across the country, using various models of Digital GeigerCounters, upload their Radiation Count data in real time to their computer using a Data Cable, and then over the Internet to this web site, all of this accomplished through GeigerGraph for Networks software.

How to Read the Map:

Referring to the Map Legend at the bottom left corner of the map, locate Monitoring Stations around the country that are contributing radiation data to this map as you read this, and watch the numbers on those monitoring stations update as frequently as every minute (your browser will automatically refresh). The numbers represent radiation Counts per Minute, abbreviated CPM, and under normal conditions, quantify the level of background radiation, i.e. environmental radiation from outer space as well as from the earth's crust and air. Depending on your location within the US, your elevation or altitude, and your model of Geiger counter, this background radiation level might average anywhere from 5 to 60 CPM, and while background radiation levels are random, it would be unusual for those levels to exceed 100 CPM. Thus, the "Alert Level" for the National Radiation Map is 100 CPM, so if you see any Monitoring Stations with CPM value above 100, further indicated by an Alert symbol over those stations, it probably means that some radioactive source above and beyond background radiation is responsible.

Notice the Time and Date Stamp at the bottom center of the Map. That is Arizona Time, from where we service the Network, and your indication of how recently the Radiation Levels have been updated to the Map.

"Speaking of clouds those streaks across the sky you saw at times today are called contrails. Here is a picture from this morning. They are condensation clouds created by planes or jets. Their engines release hot and humid air and the gas becomes a liquid as it cools in the much cooler air. In fact even though ground temperatures were near 80 today. Countless animals and humans continue to suffer at the hands of BP and government agencies as the casualties of the gulf oil spill mount. A bad situation was turned into a disaster as toxic chemical dispersants and genetically engineered biological agents were utilized. The fallout of this criminally irresponsible act continue to manifest in the form of illness, suffering, and death.

The crude oil that gushed into the Gulf of Mexico (while BP continually under-reported the flow rate of gushing oil) was obviously harmful to the ecologic environment. However, instead of utilizing safe techniques to remove their toxic sludge they chose fast and risky methods to remove as much oil as possible from the public eye. In order to minimize the public relations nightmare and hide much of the magnitude of their guilt, chemical dispersants were utilized.

One of these chemical dispersants is named, "Corexit." BP admits 1.8 million gallons of dispersant was pumped and sprayed across the Gulf of Mexico despite it's known toxicity. However, this figure is debated, because it appears much more could have been used. (Ref.) It's toxicity to marine life is discussed in a paper titled, "Acute Aquatic Toxicity of Three Corexit Products: An Overview" which describes its toxicity. It is described as being mildly to moderately toxic to marine life, but the toxicity increases with temperature. Apparently, this was not considered when the chemical was introduced into the very warm Gulf of Mexico!

Disturbingly, BP had many alternative dispersants at their disposal that exhibit less toxicity. One of these is named, "Dispersit" and is made by Polychem, a division of U.S. Polychemical Corporation. It is claimed to be water based, non-toxic, and poses almost no risk to humans. However, even if BP had not chosen to use Dispersit, they had a dozen other EPA approved dispersants on a list they could have chosen from. For some reason these safer alternatives were ignored.

Human Toxicity

Corexit is not only toxic to marine life, but also to humans. Although the manufacturer of Corexit claims the potential toxicity to humans is low, expert toxicologists are stating otherwise. One of these toxicologists is Dr. Susan Shaw, who is the founder and director of the Marine Environmental Research Institute. She has stated, "And that’s what that Corexit does, it ruptures red blood cells, causes internal bleeding, and liver and kidney damage. …" What's even worse, is when Corexit mixes with oil, the toxicity increases, as she describes in this video.

The oil and dispersants do not stay in the ocean though. They evaporate into gaseous forms and can blow onto shore with the wind or fall as rain. It is obvious these various forms of oil and Corexit were doing harm. Members of cleanup crews, fishermen, and coastal residents have experienced all manner of illnesses. These include sore throats, burning of the skin, swelling, headaches, seizures, shortness of breath, flu like symptoms, and countless other problems. Stunningly, when local fishermen who were volunteering to help with the cleanup asked for respirators, BP denied their request claiming they were not needed because there was nothing toxic in the air. Instead of reprimand, an "Air Force Outstanding Unit Award" was given to 910th Airlift Wing last week for spraying 30,000 acres of the ocean with at least 149,000 gallons of dispersant, proving their involvement and culpability in the operation. (Ref.)

Experimental Biologics

To make a bad situation even worse, experimental substances with environmental effects less understood than chemical toxins were used to try and clean up the oil spill. Genetically engineered microbes were utilized. These microbes were designed to literally consume the oil and hydrocarbons leaking into the gulf. However, some of these microbes (even before they are genetically engineered) can cause skin rashes and immune responses in humans.

All of these bacteria can transfer genes to other bacteria through a process called, "Horizontal Gene Transfer." What is potentially terrifying is that we do not know exactly what genes were added to these bacteria and could have been transferred to bacteria native to the Gulf of Mexico. We could have countless new strains of bacteria growing and multiplying in the gulf as we speak!

A combination of illnesses from hydrocarbons mixed with Corexit and various genetically engineered bacteria has been named, "The Gulf Blue Plague". At the link above you can find detailed information about the exact bacteria introduced to the gulf, the companies that patented their genetically modified versions, more evidence of the human toxicity of Corexit, and other valuable data that simply cannot be fully reviewed in a single short article.

A Life Lost to Criminal Irresponsibility

An example of a life lost to this insane experimentation is Lisa Nelson of Orange Beach, Alabama. She went out to the coast one night to enjoy the beauty of the moon and suddenly upon returning home started having severe symptoms. Her throat and face became swollen, bruises appeared on her body, and her breathing became difficult. It is apparent that she was exposed to the toxic chemicals being sprayed and dumped in the gulf during that time period. Little did she know then, the cool sea breeze that night would be her undoing. After many doctor visits, no medical professional was able to pin-point her illness or do anything to resolve her condition. The massive doses of steroids and antibiotics prescribed did little to reduce her suffering. Sadly, she passed away on March 7, 2011.

The Hutchison Solution

John Hutchison, who is famous for his anti-gravity and matter manipulating experiments (in which various materials can levitate and literally fuse into each other), and his partner Nancy Lazaryan, have developed a potential solution for the disaster in the gulf. They have produced a method of generating radio and acoustic frequencies that can break apart the oil and other chemicals in polluted areas.

After activating his device and emitting these restorative frequencies across a stretch of coastline polluted by the gulf tragedy, a remarkable event happened. The water appeared to clear itself of contaminants; and various organisms such as crabs, fish, and dolphins returned to the area. Testing of a sample from the cleansed water performed by a professional laboratory confirmed a vast reduction in oil particles. (Ref.)

Unfortunately, alternative cleanup solutions such as this are almost always ignored by the mainstream, BP, and government agencies. Further testing of this toxin eradicating effect needs to be performed to provide undeniable confirmation of its viability. If this technology is confirmed and widely implemented, it could potentially represent a rapid, cost effective, and revolutionary advance in oil spill remediation.

Both John and Nancy have been "hit with the Corexit." Nancy told us: "John has what looked like a MERSA infection on his arms, but he still does what he does to help."

BP's Billions and Shattered Lives

Countless businesses were brought to financial ruin by this tragedy. Fishermen, crabbers, shrimpers, and countless local business owners were brought to financial ruin. BP has a responsibility to financially compensate those effected by this tragedy, but word has spread of countless examples of inaction and broken promises. It has been stated by local residents that the payout of funds seems arbitrary with BP paying money out to arguably frivolous claims (such as strip club employees claiming lost wages) while ignoring those filed by those who make their living on the water who can no keep their head above water financially.

The mainstream media seems to have lost interest in BP's lack of action and payouts to those truly impacted by the spill. Families are losing their homes, boats are being re-possessed, and businesses are closing. All BP seems to care about is watching their bottom line and limiting their financial exposure!

Where are the Democrats on Capitol Hill that should be screaming about this? Where are the Republicans on Fox News that should be shouting about this?

Who will stand up for the innocent who have been harmed physically or financially and seek fair compensation?

The answer seems to be that very few are willing to do so, and even FEWER of our so-called, "representatives" are representing the pain of these people.

The Guilty Remain Free

The evidence of gross misconduct and criminal irresponsibility on the part of BP and countless government agencies is enormous. To recap, the flow rate of the gushing oil was obviously under-reported. To enhance the harmful potential of the sludge the most toxic dispersants were utilized while less dangerous alternatives were ignored. Genetically engineered bacteria were then introduced to the gulf without a full understanding of their impact or the potential transfer of their genetic material to other organisms that could occur. Requests for respirators by clean-up workers, legitimate financial claims for compensation, and admissions of responsibility for illnesses and deaths have all been denied.

Simply put, the situation is frustrating. The powers that be have done a great job of concealing information, limiting their financial exposure, and escaping the legal consequences of their guilt. But a simple fact is that there are far more of US than there are of THEM. We must use this to our advantage. If thousands or millions of concerned citizens continually demand justice we cannot be ignored forever. We must speak up and must let our voices be heard!

The truth will and must win in the end.

This trend will continue. In fact, it still felt great in the filtered sunshine today as temperatures had no trouble reaching near 80 degrees. The main storm track will stay north of our area this week which means our big weather story is the warmest week of the year is here.

We will have some afternoon seabreezes due to the big land-sea temperature differences. This will keep high temperatures near the beaches in the middle 70s for highs while inland areas will have no trouble reaching 80 degrees. Be careful of patchy morning fog with a light wind and increasing humidity over the next couple days.

The Price of Secrecy, The Consequences of Cover Up

Today, I was sent two unrelated YouTube clips by 2 different people. I include one of them below, which shows a few snapshots and some commentary regarding the large scale and highly distressing catastrophe in Japan. For myself, I find the disaster deeply, deeply troubling – because I know that even if the earthquake was just a “natural event”, the effects of it could be mitigated much more comprehensively than they surely will be.

Additionally, as I write this, there is a further crisis developing, which could result in further radioactive contamination of the area surrounding Fukushima Daiichi Reactor complex due to the damage caused to the nuclear reactors there.

Along the ongoing environmental destruction in other areas – such as the Gulf of Mexico – is often attributed to “human folly” and the thirst for energy sources. Whilst this is true at one level, it is a view which is given from one “living in a world of scarcity”. However, my own study and research has shown that a number of people have literally given their lives and proved that any thirst for energy can be quenched with clean non-polluting (or very much less polluting) sources of energy – a world of abundance. Some time ago, I compiled a presentation which included the evidence for this statement being true.

Over 2 years ago, I wrote an article called Manufacturing The Apocalypse which suggested that some agency was involved in engineering “natural” disasters, such as the one now seen in Japan. Whilst a number of internet posters have already claimed that HAARP (in Alaska) is responsible, I doubt this is true – it is more likely that other technology is in use – possibly utilising the same “ether physics” that was exploited in the destruction of the WTC complex on 911.

I wish to make 2 main points here. Firstly, I hold those who support the secrecy and cover up related to energy technologies as significantly responsible for the loss of life, danger and destruction which occurs in events like the ones unfolding in Japan.

Secondly, I challenge all people working in areas which involve keeping technologies secret to think about their own responsibilities to humanity:

What is area 51 for? What technologies are sequestered there? At whose behest are they sequestered? Is it the case that the people who patrol the borders have had their brains and souls removed and have no “human connection” to the rest of us? What would they prefer a 4-wheeled pick up truck which they have to fill up with gas/petrol every 400 miles (for perhaps $100), or an antigravity craft running on vacuum energy? It seems they like the pick up truck idea more… And of course, Area 51 does not seem to be the only area “dedicated to secrecy”.

Is it true, then, that some type of mind control is in operation – preventing people working in these areas from choosing the correct option? Perhaps it’s not so much “mind control” as HAARP – “High Amplitude Advancement of Real Propaganda” – as we have seen in the mainstream media, 9/11 “truth” movement and in other branches of the “alternative knowledge” community.

In relation to energy – specifically “Cold Fusion”, or Low Energy Nuclear Reactions as it should more correctly be called, a certain Professor Steven E. “Thermite” Jones declared, in 1989, there was no possibility of using this to produce cheap energy:

Can geoengineering put the freeze on global warming?

Scientists call it "geoengineering," but in plain speak, it means things like this: blasting tons of sulfate particles into the sky to reflect sunlight away from Earth; filling the ocean with iron filings to grow plankton that will suck up carbon; even dimming sunlight with space shades.

Each brings its own set of risks, but in a world fretting about the consequences of global warming, are these ideas whose time has come?

With 2010 tying as the world's warmest year on record and efforts to slow greenhouse gas emissions looking stymied, calls are rising for research into engineering our way out of global warming — everything from launching solar shade spacecraft to genetically engineering green deserts. An international consortium of 12 universities and research institutes on Tuesday, for example, announced plans to pioneer large-scale "ocean fertilization" experiments aimed at using the sea to pull more greenhouse gases out of the sky.

Once the domain of scientists' off-hours schemes scrawled on cocktail napkins, such geoengineering is getting a serious look in the political realm.

"We're moving into a different kind of world," says environmental economist Scott Barrett of Columbia University. "Better we turn to asking if 'geoengineering' could work, than waiting until it becomes a necessity."

A National Academy of Sciences' best estimate has global warming bumping up average temperatures by 3 to 7 degrees Fahrenheit by the end of the century. Meanwhile, greenhouse gas emissions that are largely responsible, most from burning the modern economy's main fuels, coal and oil, look set to continue to rise for the next quarter-century, according to Energy Information Agency estimates.

"That's where geoengineering comes in," says international relations expert David Victor of the University of California-San Diego. "Research into geoengineering creates another option for the public."

Geoengineering takes its cue from the natural experiment that actually had made the only dent in global warming's rise in the last two decades — the 1991 eruption of Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines, which blasted more than 15 million tons of sulfur dioxide 21 miles high, straight into the stratosphere. The stratosphere suspended those sulfur particles in the air worldwide, where the haze they created scattered and reflected sunlight away from the Earth and cooled global atmospheric temperatures nearly 0.7 to 0.9 degrees Fahrenheit in 1992 and 1993, before finally washing out, according to NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies estimates. Firing about half that much sulfur into the stratosphere every year for 30 years would help stabilize global warming's rise, National Center for Atmospheric Research climate scientist Tom Wigley estimated in a much-debated 2006 Science journal report.

Humanity would effectively become addicted to sky-borne sulfates to keep the cooling on track. The tradeoff is that rain and snow patterns would likely shift, a 2008 Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences study found, consigning hundreds of millions of the poorest people on the planet in Africa and Asia to recurring drought.
No longer eyed askance

"Geoengineering is no longer a taboo topic at scientific meetings. They are looking at it as one more policy prescription," says Science magazine reporter Eli Kintisch, author of Hack the Planet: Science's Best Hope — Or Worst Nightmare — For Averting Climate Catastrophe. "But it is yet to become a household word."

That may be changing, as the terms of debate about geoengineering become clear. On the pro-research side, this October the U.S. House Committee on Science and Technology called for more research into geoengineering, "to better understand which technologies or methods, if any, represent viable stopgap strategies for managing our changing climate and which pose unacceptable risks." On the more cautious side, a United Nations Environment Programme species conservation meeting in Nagoya, Japan, ended that same month with a call for, "no climate-related geoengineering activities," without environmental and scientific review.

What are the actual geoengineering proposals? Broadly, they come in two flavors: those that deal with greenhouse gases directly by soaking up carbon dioxide (the greenhouse gas with the biggest warming impact); and those that seek to limit the sunlight that warms those greenhouse gases. Here's a sampling, from the deep ocean to deep space:

•Ocean fertilization. Dumping iron filings into the ocean to spur phytoplankton blooms is the saltwater version of forestation. The increased mass of the plankton's cells would swell with carbon pulled from the air. On the downside, it may kill fish, belch out other greenhouse gases such as methane, and hasn't worked very well in small trials.

•Forestation. Intense planting of trees and reclaiming deserts with hardier plants is one of the ideas endorsed at the recent Cancun, Mexico, climate meeting, where representatives of 192 nations made some progress on an international climate agreement. More fantastic versions, endorsed by Princeton physicist Freeman Dyson, would rely on genetic engineering to produce trees that act as natural carbon scrubbers, their trunks swollen with carbon pulled from the air.

•Cloud engineering. Painting rooftops white, genetically engineering crops to have shinier surfaces, and floating blocks of white Styrofoam in the oceans are all proposals to mimic the effects of clouds, whose white surfaces reflect sunlight. Pumping sea salt into the sky from thousands of "spray ships" could increase clouds themselves. Cost-effectiveness aside, such cloud-seeding might end up dumping rain on the ocean or already soggy regions, instead of where it's needed.

•Pinatubo a-go-go. As mentioned above, sulfur aerosols could be fired into the sky by cannons, released by balloons or dropped from planes.

•Space mirrors. Hundreds of thousands of thin reflective yard-long disks fired into a gravitational balance point between the sun and Earth could dim sunlight. Cost aside, rocket failures or collisions might lead to a tremendous orbital debris cloud circling the Earth. And a recent Geophysical Research Letters space tourism report suggests the rocket fuel burned to launch the needed number of shades would dump enough black soot — which absorbs sunlight and heats the atmosphere — to increase average global temperatures about 1.4 degrees.

"Most of the technologies are not yet proven and are at the theoretical or research phase," an August Congressional Research Service report noted.

On the environmental side, cutting temperature increases through these techniques may still shift rain and snow patterns, leaving the planet cooler, but it could also trigger droughts across vast swaths of farmland in Africa and India. Further, ocean fertilization could contribute to mass killing of sea life and releases of methane greenhouse gas, while using sulfur aerosols could bring not only drought but also enlarged ozone holes.

Leaving aside the environmental risks each one carries, the estimated costs tend to increase with how quickly each method removes carbon or deflects sunlight. The space reflectors would top the bill at a cost of several trillion dollars over 25 years.

"Geoengineering technologies, once developed, may enable short-sighted and unwise deployment, with potentially serious unforeseen consequences," said a 2009 American Meteorological Society statement. Turning over weather management to human beings raises, "legal, ethical, diplomatic, and even national security concerns," the statement added. Deflected storm tracks could result in floods such as the ones hitting Australia last month or Pakistan last year. And simply cutting temperatures won't stop the rise in ocean acidification arising from increased carbon dioxide levels in the air, which may affect marine life underlying the ocean food web.

Simply putting a worldwide price on carbon emissions from smokestacks and letting the marketplace lead to lower carbon emissions would likely be cheaper and more sensible than geoengineering, says Barrett, the economist. "But let's face it. We're talking about (geoengineering) because we don't have a price on carbon."

That's why geoengineering could happen before a global climate treaty ever passes the U.S. Senate, suggests Victor. International climate talks rest on getting 192 self-interested and short-sighted nations to cooperate in ways that will benefit some and cost others, particularly coal-powered ones such as the United States and China. But with geoengineering, you only need one nation to start "hacking," or geoengineering, the planet.

"It would be not at all surprising to wake up one morning and discover that Chinese testing (of geoengineering) has begun on a large scale," Victor says. "That would freak everyone out and create huge international tensions."

No international treaty governs geoengineering, other than a 2008 amendment to ocean pollution agreements limiting ocean fertilization to research studies.
Still a foreign concept to many

A Yale University survey of 1,001 people nationwide last year found that 1% could correctly describe geoengineering. The field needs to be researched, suggests climate scientist Michael MacCracken of the Climate Institute in Washington, D.C., before opinions harden without accurate information. Geoengineering at this point looks like one of many options in addressing climate change, MacCracken adds. "You can only geoengineer so much before the side effects become so much worse than the cure that it doesn't make sense to bother."

He and others argue geoengineering research should begin in earnest, before some abrupt climate change, such as Greenland's ice sheet melting precipitously, stampedes the world into an overreaction and rush to costly technology as a quick, untested fix.

"No research is really going on in a lot of these areas," he says, raising the prospect of a lot of fruitless or counterproductive climate engineering efforts suddenly sprouting in a global panic about collapsing ice sheets decades from now.

Global warming by itself is a kind of geoengineering, noted as far back as 1896 by the Swedish scientist Svante Arrhenius, who calculated that doubling the amount of carbon dioxide (the most noted greenhouse gas) in the atmosphere by burning fossil fuels would likely warm the atmosphere by 9 degrees. Arrhenius supposed that would take thousands of years to happen, based on fossil fuel use rates at the turn of the century. Instead, the global average temperature has warmed about 1.4 degrees since he made his estimate, as carbon dioxide levels have increased tremendously, and his 9-degree increase is now within the range of forecasts for 2100.

"I think it is settled that some climate engineering research will go forward," Kintisch says. "We haven't seen it enter the national debate yet. Hard to know what will happen when it does. That may be the biggest question."

I’ve been watching planes overfly my house in SW Las Vegas for some time, starting with a pair of Leupold 10x42 binoculars and most recently I’ve been photographing the planes with my Canon 20D. All of the planes chemtrailing in the Las Vegas area are commercial jets.

Starting around dawn on Sunday, February 13, 2011 we got heavily chemtrailed by jets flying in all directions. I stepped out of the house to check the sky around 7:30 AM and this is what I saw.

Using Flight Aware and Flight Explorer I was able to identify exactly which plane was chemtrailing at 7:54AM as it overflew my house. You can see from the photo that the plane is all white on the bottom with two black circles in mid-section. The black circles are the wheels and characteristic of the Boeing 737-800 or B738. Around 7:54AM there were two B738s in the air around Las Vegas, one was a Continental Airlines B738 and the other was a Delta Airlines B738. Continental uses an all white paint scheme on the bottom of their planes while Delta uses a blue oval on the bottom of their planes. So the plane was Continental Flight 556 out of Los Angeles going to Cleveland.

There’s No Such Thing as a Persistent Contrail

This report summarizes my latest thinking based on observations of planes overflying the southwest Las Vegas area and documentation produced by various sources.

Many anti-chemtrail activists are uncomfortable with the term chemtrail and some prefer the term persistent contrail to describe the pluming and persistence phenomenon of jet exhaust. Calling what we see in the sky a persistent contrail is simply not valid based on the current state of atmospheric science. Take a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWvwaOgP564 if you haven’t already watched this YouTube video and you can also visit http://www.watchthesky.org/ for additional information on why persistent contrails cannot form in the atmosphere.

The author of the video and the web site mentioned above says that persistent contrails cannot form unless the temperature is less than -40 degrees Celsius and the humidity is 60% or greater. This is basically true but since modern jet aircraft cruise between 32,000 feet and 39,000 feet the conditions for persistent contrails at those altitudes are less than -46 degrees Celsius and 60% or greater humidity. These conditions are mentioned in various documents produced by the Air Force/NASA/NOAA/EPA/FAA. When we see the pluming and persistence phenomenon are these conditions met? The answer is no and therefore by the definition of persistent contrails they cannot exist. So what is it that we are seeing? As uncomfortable as this is going to make a portion of the activists I’ll refer to what we are seeing as chemtrails.

To prove the above point for yourself take a look at http://weather.uwyo.edu/upperair/sounding.html and pick a sounding’s site close to where you are located. Data for a day is composed of two soundings, one at 00Z(ulu) and 12Z(ulu). To get data for a particular day choose data between 12Z on the day in question and 00Z on the next day. This is to adjust for Zulu or GMT time. Then look at the data between 195 hPa (39,000 feet, 390C) and 274 hPa (32,000 feet, 320C) and see if the relative humidity is 60% or greater when you see chemtrails in the sky.

For example, Saturday, 3-5-2011, was the worst day yet in Las Vegas for chemtrailing. The chemtrailing started at dawn and went to dusk. Every plane flying in the Las Vegas airspace was chemtrailing and spraying the old style, very persistent and very pluming chemtrails that spread out and completely covered the sky from horizon to horizon. It was a total overcast sky produced by chemtrails. Looking at 12Z data for 3-5-2011, 4AM local time, and 00Z data on 3-6-2011, 4PM the previous day(3-5-2011) local time, for site VEF we see the conditions at altitude at 4AM ranged from -62.7 degrees C and 38% humidity at 390C to -43.3 degrees C and 41% humidity at 320C and at 4PM the data ranged from -61.7 degrees C and 34% humidity at 390C to -41.7 degrees C and 41% humidity at 320C. Based on the criteria of less than -46 degrees C and 60% or greater humidity what we saw in Las Vegas on 3-5-2011 wasn’t persistent contrails, they were chemtrails.

Another reason not to use the word persistent contrail is that at any time the Air Force/NASA/NOAA/EPA/FAA can simply say they were wrong in defining the conditions necessary to form persistent contrails and simply say that persistent contrails can form at 5% humidity or some other low ball number.

Basically the term persistent contrail was cooked up because the planes were chemtrailing and the Air Force/NASA/NOAA/EPA/FAA had to come up with some concept to explain the pluming and persistence phenomenon of chemtrails. Then they had to dummy up some pseudo-scientific conditions and explanation for persistent contrail formation. This then could be used against chemtrail observations and would allow the Air Force/NASA/NOAA/EPA/FAA to say that chemtrails are a hoax. But, as has been proven, persistent contrails are a hoax.

I have been observing the chemtrail spray program since the end of 1999, when spraying first began in Washington state (spraying began earlier in California), where I observed chemtrail activity for six years. In 2006, I began observing chemtrail activity in Southern California. Since 2009, I have taken photos of chemtrail spray activity over Ventura County. I am far from alone in my view that these miles-long, expanding trails, which sometimes are switched off and on (just watch to see that wispy cloud effect), and which then become what we call “chemclouds,” are the action of the chemtrail spray program, a global program.

Many have written to our local, state and national representatives, NOAA, ecology, weather departments, universities and military, and many who are supposed to be representing us. Our numerous inquiries have seldom been addressed.

The difference between jet aircraft with their normal short, quickly dissipating, comet-like contrails, and the chemtrail spray planes, spewing out miles-long trails can easily be observed. There are several days during the year in which the spray planes are spraying elsewhere and in which chemclouds sprayed elsewhere have not blown into an area and only normal air traffic can be seen. Anyone looking at the sky then might ask: There are absolutely no contrails in the sky today. Has all air traffic been grounded?

They might well ask: Why are there a number of days when not a single so-called contrail can be observed, and other days when the sky is absolutely jammed-packed full of these “contrails” crisscrossing in every direction, often showing giant X-marks, with aircraft at times clearly being seen making turns?

Francis Mangels, former USDA scientist and featured expert in the movie What In The World Are They Spraying?, joins us to talk about the controversial topic, chemtrails. Skeptics say that chemtrails are merely persistent contrails, but the conditions for which normal contrails to persist are very rare. Is something more going on? For years, geo-engineers have discussed using high altitude aerosol spraying to mitigate the effects of global warming. They just don’t admit that they are doing it. Mangels has contacted the FAA, NASA, the Airforce and other military agencies about his findings and they refuse to acknowledge it. To date, no one has disputed his data, they just refuse to comment. GUELPH — Johan Bouwer is sure the truth is out there — or rather, up there — and that the authorities want to keep you in the dark.

The 68-year-old Elora resident is convinced military planes have been spraying chemicals into the atmosphere above his Elora home as part of an international conspiracy.

“There are more things to life than a lot of people think,” Bouwer, a retired importer of toilets whose wife and two daughters also live in the Guelph area, said during a phone interview Thursday.

You might think Bouwer’s off-base. He also believes in “a new world order” and describes himself as “spiritual.” But he’s among many people who insist on the existence of man-made toxic clouds known as chemtrails.

The theory is a bona fide internet meme with a huge following in Ontario, where last week’s revelations that planes in the province used to drop cancer-causing Agent Orange on teen forestry workers could only be seen to legitimize outlandish fears of government conspiracy.

As far back as 2003, an Ontario resident collected 1,180 signatures on a petition alleging the federal government was spraying “massive amounts of chemicals” on citizens coast to coast. The petition submitted to the House of Commons was later refuted in statements by Health Canada and Environment Canada.

Bouwer said the issue first came to his attention about a year and a half ago, after he noticed jet condensation trails lingering for more than a half-hour above his home.

“I saw them with my own eyes,” he said. “After a half-hour, the trails start to widen out, and within a couple of hours, the whole atmosphere becomes hazy.”

He said normal vapour disappears within 10 minutes — a notion disputed by Environment Canada — whereas “these contrails remain.” They also appear in criss-cross patterns, he said, suggesting aircraft are passing repeatedly over one area.

He said he suspects the clouds contain poisonous chemicals aimed at controlling climate, noting: “A couple of days after the spraying, I get a sore throat.”

The existence of chemtrails has not been corroborated by anyone in any airline industry or military.

Terry Stewart, a Victoria Airport Authority employee whose statements from a phone call recorded in 2000 are often used to support the theory, cleared the air this week.

“I made a comment on a voice machine and it was blown up into the international press,” he said, adding his statement that a military exercise was happening in the area of supposed chemtrails sightings “was taken completely and utterly out of context.”

Scientists and aviation officials have said contrails sometimes hang in the sky because of atmospheric conditions such as low temperature and high humidity.

“Want to know the main chemical in contrails?” asked Ron Singer, an official at Nav Canada, the country’s air traffic control body. “It’s H2O.”

“A lot of people believe in a lot of crazy things,” Singer added. “Just look up reptilian shape-shifters on Google or YouTube.”

A public affairs officer with 1 Canadian Air Division in Winnipeg said military jets do not regularly perform any “highly classified” missions in Canada.

“You’ve got to remember that the Canadian Forces has a limited air fleet. None of them are equipped to do any spraying, and all of our bases are within full view of the civilian population,” the officer, David Elias, said, adding the Forces exist to protect Canadians, not poison them.

He said pilots are required to fly patterns as part of training, “and these involve several specific passes … in order to provide uniform coverage during a search and rescue mission.”

Ted Goertzel, a sociologist who has studied conspiracy theories at Rutgers University in New Jersey, said the chemtrails theory appears bogus.

“They don’t seem to have evidence at all,” he said. “It started as a rumour, possibly as a deliberate hoax, then failure of people to refute it is taken as evidence that it’s true.”

Conspiracy theorists tend to discount all contrary evidence on the basis that everyone is biased or part of the conspiracy, he added. “I think people have fears and anxieties, maybe a certain amount of free-floating anxiety, and they’re looking for something to attach it to.”

Bouwer denies being delusional. “I’m not a conspiracy theorist. Not at all,” he said. “As a matter of fact, they were about it this morning,” he wrote in an email Thursday. “Look up.”

Sure enough, the sky was streaked with white trails tapering into ominous blankets of haze.

Wispy white jet contrails are a familiar sight, a sign of today's considerable air traffic and, to some people, a visible reminder of environmental threat.

The trails -- formed when moisture condenses around aircraft engine exhaust -- create cirrus clouds that block solar energy from above and trap heat below. They may be contributing to warming of the Earth's surface temperature, NASA studies show.

"There is absolutely an effect," said David Mrofka, a climate change lecturer at the University of California-Riverside. "It's going to cool things in the daytime and warm things at night."

Scientists are studying contrails' impact on everything from climate change to crops.

Contrails occur in clusters because of favorable atmospheric conditions -- temperatures below minus 40 degrees and high humidity at 30,000 feet altitude, said Andrew Carleton, a climate science professor at Penn State University in University Park, Pa. Those clusters occur over the United States, Europe and, increasingly, over Asia and Southeast Asia as air traffic grows. More than 8.3 million domestic and international flights crossed U.S. skies in 2010, according to the federal Department of Transportation. In 2003, the last year analyzed in a NASA study, there were about 27,000 flights per day over the United States that could cause contrails.

Contrails have increased since the 1970s, primarily because of a change in the atmospheric pressure pattern known as the Arctic Oscillation. It influences weather in northern, middle and high latitudes, Carleton said.

Climatologists believe the change may be related to global warming, he said.

Contrails keep daytime high temperatures lower than if the skies were clear, and they can raise the nighttime temperatures. Decreasing the temperature variation near the Earth's surface could change heating and cooling patterns and the local wind systems, which might affect evaporation rates and agriculture, Carleton said.

It is hard to talk about contrails without someone mentioning "chemtrails," which some say look similar to contrails but are really chemicals sprayed secretly by the government to control the weather and climate. Some go as far as saying it is a conspiracy to reduce the population.

Norman Meek, a geography and environmental studies professor at Cal State San Bernardino, dismisses the conspiracy theory.

"We know contrails have an effect. The chemtrails are something in the imagination," he said.

Rosalind Peterson, a former crop loss adjustor for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, has spent almost a decade documenting contrails. Persistent jet contrails, she said, "are keeping us in manmade cloud cover."

Peterson has amassed more than 19,000 documents on her websites -- CaliforniaSkywatch.com and AgriculturalDefenseCoalition.org -- that she says proves contrail coverage has been significant enough over the past 30 years to decrease U.S. agricultural production.

Peterson said she never uses the word "chemtrails" because it lacks scientific documentation. But she does believe the government is involved in widespread geo-engineering -- modifications of the Earth's energy balance to reduce temperatures and counteract human-caused climate change. Those efforts are causing increased cases of asthma and other adverse health effects, she said.

Peterson has lobbied for full disclosure and public debate about any climate-altering programs. She wants changes to jet flight elevations, routes and fuels to reduce the man-made cloud cover.

Global air traffic contributes 2 percent to 3 percent of carbon dioxide emissions, the main greenhouse gas linked to global warming. A May study of computer models by the American Chemical Society forecast that carbon dioxide emissions from air traffic likely will double or triple in the next 50 years.

Possible solutions include making planes fly lower, outside the atmospheric conditions that create contrails, or around those areas, Carleton said, adding that would increase fuel consumption and create more greenhouse gases.

Carleton worked with David Travis, a University of Wisconsin-Whitewater geography professor, on a study of the skies after the World Trade Center attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, when airline traffic was halted for three days.

They found the average daily temperature range between daytime highs and nighttime lows was almost 2 degrees greater than when jets fly. They concluded the contrails block some sunlight from reaching Earth during the day and prevent heat loss at night.

In 2004, NASA researcher Patrick Minnis isolated contrails on satellite data to calculate their effect on solar radiation, finding that overall the vapors contribute to warming.

"They're trying to transport people or goods from one place to another, and they happen to make these clouds," he said.

Now Minnis is working on the Aviation Climate Change Research Initiative, a venture of NASA and the Federal Aviation Administration to refine methods for detecting contrails and measuring their impact on climate.

"There's a lot of uncertainty," Minnis said. "If it turns out to be a higher number, things might need to be done to cut back on it."

I composed this letter almost a year ago but held off sending it in the hopes that, by waiting, I could send it on the occasion of the publication of Dr. Wood's book, Where Did the Towers Go? (http://wheredidthetowersgo.com/) That occasion has now arrived at last. Dr. Wood's book has been published and is now available to readers the world around, making this the real moment of truth. The question now, for every person in any way associated with the 9/11 movement, is whether that person is in fact interested in exposing the truth or, on the other hand, in continuing to cover it up. The publication of Dr. Wood's book is a momentous event, an event of incalculable importance to the entire world. It is time, now, for me to send you this letter.

Dear Alan Miller,
I’ve noticed that Dr. Judy Wood isn’t any longer listed or cited on “Patriots Question 9/11.” Why is this? I know that earlier she was on the list of professors as well as the list of engineers. What happened?

In my own view, Dr. Wood’s being omitted is like dropping Shakespeare from an anthology of Elizabethan literature. Alone among the most highly visible of 9/11 analysts, Dr. Wood is the one truth-seeker who sticks precisely and only with one thing, and that one thing is the truth about what physically happened on 9/11 insofar as it can be known through the scientific study of all—not some, but all—of the available empirical, observable evidence that pertains solely to the “what” of what happened on that day. Dr. Wood purposely stays clear of any forays into politics, innuendo, guesswork, or supposition. She will have nothing whatsoever to do with the question of “who ‘did’ it.” That question, in her view, is meaningless until the scientifically true “what” of what happened is known. This “what” is what she sets out—successfully—to show. That is, she does not say that “9/11 was an inside job” because that fact has not been scientifically established. Her focus is solely on the empirical, measurable, and observable study of evidence of any relevant kind—from analysis, measurement, and study of the “remains” of the WTC buildings through analysis of the seismic record of that day’s events, study of anomalies in the earth’s magnetic field at the times of the destructions, and even study of the field effects of the massive hurricane off the east coast of the U.S. on that day (and especially of that storm’s field effects in relation to the enormous high pressure cell that was simultaneously approaching NYC from the west).

Dr. Wood’s study, research, and analysis reveal, among many other things, that the WTC buildings did not collapse, explode, or implode, but that they DISAPPEARED into dust. Multitudes of evidence prove her case, but that hasn’t kept 9/11 pseudo-truth seekers from ridiculing her by smear, innuendo, name-calling, neglect, and disinformation in whatever ways they are able. With courage, strength, and a scientifically-based factuality, Dr. Wood has experienced more malicious contumely, more smears and fraudulent attacks than any other single member of the scientific, political, philosophical, or historical 9/11 truth-seeking community. Yet Dr. Wood has continued to stand up for the truth. Those who “choose” not to accept the evidence-based conclusions of Dr. Wood’s studies, or who, perhaps, are either afraid OR “afraid” to accept them, take the fool’s option of ridiculing them, or, equally often, of most, most blatantly ignoring both those results AND Dr. Wood’s efforts in determining them. The 9/11 truth community greeted Dr. Wood’s Request for Corrections (RFC) to NIST (March 16, 2007) with scorn, despite her being the first person to confront NIST formally about their fraudulent report of the demise of the WTC towers. It was as if the fraud of the NIST report, a report whose integrity was absolutely essential if the official story were to be undergirded, was of no real interest to the wider 9/11 community.

Dr. Wood’s federal qui tam case, filed 4/25/2007 against the contractors of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for science fraud also received virtually no notice or indication of interest other than ridicule from the 9/11 truth community. Again, it was as if the federal case being brought by Dr. Wood against the NIST contractors for science fraud (in its Congressionally-mandated task that it determine how and why the WTC buildings were destroyed)—as if this entire and absolutely central question was of no real interest to the wider 9/11 truth community. That case, further, was itself improperly dismissed as those hearing it treated the case—incorrectly—as if it paralleled the views of the general 9/11 truth movement. Those determining whether the case would be allowed to go forward incorrectly assumed, for example, that Dr. Wood (a) blamed the US military (which she does not); (b) they incorrectly assumed that Dr. Wood held the view that there was “substantial evidence that all three buildings collapsed from explosive devices” and that this view was “at the heart of the Wood. . . litigation.” (entirely incorrect); and (c) they incorrectly assumed that Dr. Wood claimed “that the towers were struck by high powered energy beams [from space]” (things that are not in any way her position). And now the case—due who knows how much to the ridicule and lack of support from the truth community—has been denied a Writ of a Certiorari by the United States Supreme Court, meaning that the Court will not hear it or allow the factual evidence to be presented in a courtroom, and therefore that the case is dead. How can it be that this is not seen by the 9/11 truth community as an exceedingly enormous defeat? Yet virtually no mention whatsoever of the Supreme Court’s rejection of the case has been forthcoming. It causes me to question the entire purpose of the “9/11 truth movement” (as well as the purpose of your Patriots Question 9/11 website). Anyone who read the document submitted to the United States Supreme Court (available on Dr. Wood’s website) should be appalled by what has taken place. The Court of Appeals essentially stated in a footnote of its written decision that it knew that the law applied to Dr. Wood’s case, but that the court was ignoring the law in order to dismiss her case.

In fact, the evidence of science fraud submitted by Dr. Wood is irrefutable. NIST itself admitted to Dr. Wood that its report was a fraud. And not one of the contractors hired by NIST denied her allegations. Then the Court of Appeals ignored the law in order to dismiss the case. What could conceivably explain the lack of interest or response by the 9/11 community? This travesty of justice, the unfounded and prejudicial derailing of Dr. Wood’s case, should be of significant concern to the entire constitutional republic. If laws are ignored for ease of dismissing cases, then we are no longer living in a constitutional republic. We are living no longer in a republic of laws, but in a state where factions of any kind can usurp power through ignoring or pre-empting laws, however ancient they may be, or however firmly embedded in the nation’s founding documents.

Dr. Wood filed her federal qui tam case in April 2007. Since that time the “9/11 truth movement” has grown, with your own Patriots Question 9/11 website now reporting “1,060+ Engineers and Architects.” Especially in light of the collection of so many engineers and architects, I find it troubling that, to this day, Dr. Wood is the only engineer, architect, or person of any profession to have filed a federal qui tam case challenging the science fraud in NIST’s report of what destroyed the WTC towers. Those who truly wanted “a new and independent investigation” into what caused the destruction of the WTC should have enthusiastically supported what she did. Such as federal case as she attempted to bring WOULD ITSELF HAVE RESULTED IN a new investigation. There it was, a genuine opportunity for achieving what so many people have been claiming all along to want above all. But now the opportunity has been destroyed by the essentially unaccountable court system as well as the lack of interest in accountability by the so called “truth movement.” All those who scorned Dr. Wood’s work and failed so notably to support her qui tam case may have done so at the expense of this nation.

Wood sacrificed her career when she spoke out about 9/11. But instead of praising her heroism, many in the “official-truth movement” have accused her of being an agent or “COINTELPRO” or disinformation agent. Such accusations can easily be dispelled by noting that it is a crime to defraud the government and it is treason if done so by a government agent (see the Smith-Mundt Act). A government agent submitting disinformation to another government agency would amount to the government attacking itself in a psychological operation. Perhaps this explains why no one has submitted “thermite evidence” to NIST. Perhaps this explains why no one has submitted “thermite evidence” in a federal qui tam case.

Along these same lines, it is powerfully notable that only after the Supreme Court denied the case in which Dr. Wood included as evidence the aerial photographs of the towers being destroyed on 9/11 were these photographs “newly released” with the claim that they had never before been seen. In truth, not only were they a part both of Dr. Wood’s RFC and her qui tam case, and not only had they already been posted on her web site for FOUR YEARS, but when she prepared the legal documents in early 2007, she gave the images to Jim Fetzer to be used for a photo section in his book—only to have him give credit for them not to Dr. Wood herself but to someone else. An even worse example of the distortion the “truth movement” is capable of, Dr. Fetzer, with the “new” release of the aerial images, treated them publically as images being seen by him for the first time.

I have never met Dr. Wood, but I have been aware of her work and have corresponded with her for many years. For the past six of those years, she has been working on a book, due out this year, that will present her work and its results in totality. I know the book very well, since—in consideration of my qualifications as essayist, writer, novelist and author, retired professor of writing, publisher, editor, and 9/11 truth-seeker myself—I have edited it in its entirety two times, once chapter by chapter and then again when the book was pulled together into its entirety. In my own view, Dr. Wood’s book will prove, in a great number of ways, to be very possibly the most important book yet to have been published in the 21st century.

So strongly do I feel about the extraordinary importance of Dr. Wood’s research, and about its incalculable superiority to the research—and the “conclusions”—of any and all others in the 9/11 truth movement, that if she isn’t reinstated on the “Patriots for 9/11 Truth” site in acknowledgment of what she has done for this country, I will ask you—and in fact ask you here and now, should Dr. Wood not be reinstated—also to remove me, my picture, my biography, and my 9/11-related comments from the site entirely. Those who do not support Dr. Wood’s work are not patriots. It may be concluded that those who do not support Dr. Wood’s work have an unpatriotic agenda that I do not want to be associated with.

Wispy white jet contrails are a familiar sight, a sign of today's considerable air traffic and, to some people, a visible reminder of the environmental threat that comes with it.

The trails -- formed when moisture condenses around aircraft engine exhaust -- create cirrus clouds that block solar energy from above and trap heat below. They may be contributing to warming of the Earth's surface temperature, NASA studies show.

"There is absolutely an effect," said David Mrofka, a climate change lecturer at UC Riverside. "It's going to cool things in the daytime and warm things at night."

Numerous theories surround the trails. Scientists are studying contrails' impact on everything from climate change to crops, and conspiracy theorists contend they are the result of dangerous government experiments and cause health problems.

Contrails occur in clusters because of favorable atmospheric conditions -- temperatures below minus 40 degrees and high humidity at 30,000 feet altitude, said Andrew Carleton, a climate science professor at Penn State University in University Park, Pa. Those clusters occur over the United States, Europe and, increasingly, over Asia and Southeast Asia as air traffic grows. More than 8.3 million domestic and international flights crossed U.S. skies in 2010, according to the federal Department of Transportation. Over her home in Mendocino County, in Northern California, Peterson said jets regularly crisscross the skies and make loops not related to airport traffic in San Francisco and Sacramento. She believes the planes are military, though NASA scientists and other researchers disagree.

Palm Springs environmentalist Geraldine Carpentier worries that the contrails signify something sinister.

"It's very concerning for me to know, despite everything we can do to lead healthy lives, there are programs in place that go beyond anything we can control," she said.

In her online newsletter, Palm Springs Green Scene, Carpentier publishes pictures of blue skies made hazy white by contrails.

Carpentier also refers to claims made by some residents of the San Bernardino Mountains in 2006 of weather modification experiments that left a dust cloud and yellowish residue, followed by an increase in respiratory ailments. She recently attended a local screening of the new documentary, "What in the World are They Spraying?" that accuses the government of geo-engineering to manipulate the climate and contaminating the soil and water.

"The scientists or agencies or associations or mainstream media who say that it's just conspiracy theory, that's a way to continue the silence around this and not have an open debate," she said.

The aim of the project is to help experts gain a better understanding of how human actions are affecting the climate.

However, rather than the gadgetry normally used for measuring the weather, this study hopes to gain a more intricate picture of conditions on a personal level.

The Open Air Laboratories (Opal) survey is therefore calling on ordinary people to make observations and send them in for analysis.

Here we explore the various ways people can get involved:

1. Investigating whether aircraft are making clouds

Aircraft vapour trails, also known as contrails, form when the temperature is cold enough (below about -40°C) but the air is humid – in a similar way to when you breathe out on a cold day and can see your breath. When fuel is burned in an aircraft’s engine, the water vapour formed mixes with the very cold air and condenses, forming a trail of ice crystals. These contrails can warm the climate because they stop heat radiation leaving our atmosphere, in a similar way to greenhouse gases. The Met Office wants to have a better idea of where contrails form across England, and your results will help it do this.

Participants in the survey are asked spend five minutes as often as possible studying the sky and noting the number and type of contrails they can see.

2. Monitoring which way the wind blows the clouds

The aim here is to find out which way the wind is blowing at cloud height. Anyone can work this out using a mirror and a compass. Mark the four points of the compass in pen on the mirror and lay it on the ground, having lined it up with the compass. Then, watch an easily recognisable part of a cloud in the mirror and track its progress by marking it at three or more points. You can then join them up with a straight line and note the wind direction.

3. Finding out how winds blow at ground level

Easily the most fun of the tasks, this requires blowing bubbles and following them to track the way the wind moves them through the air. Begin by marking a spot on the ground and blowing a string of bubbles. Pick on bubble and chase it until it bursts or is whipped away out of sight. Blow another bubble from where you end up and follow that one. Repeat the process about 10 times and then finally look back towards your start point. Using a compass, work out the direction back to the start point, which will tell you the average wind direction because wind direction refers to where the wind is blowing from. The measurements from this task and task 2 can be used to compare to official weather predictions, to discover local effects to wind direction.

4. Measuring how hot or cold you feel

After spending 15 minutes outdoors, participants are asked to note down how the weather feels, what you would prefer to feel and how well your clothing insulates you from the weather. Experts hope that by comparing recorded temperatures with the way people perceive the weather, they can get a more accurate picture of how people in different areas are more sensitive to climate.

Evidence has surfaced indicating that large geo-engineering corporations have partnered with the federal government to use chemical agents to offset the impact of 'anthropogenic global warming.' According to several government watchdog groups the corporations and the Feds are experimenting with climate manipulation by spraying chemicals into the sky that would supposedly slow or stop the heating up of the earth's surface. Citizens who live in the areas of the experiments report the sighting of 'chemtrails' in the sky--large streams of white trails similar to that of the 'contrails' left behind by airliners. So significant was the evidence of the chemtrails that CBS-Atlanta did a special report on the phenomenon on Februrary 13 of this year. A video explaining the issues at stake can be found in the top left column.

Among the government agencies allegedly involved in the experiments are the Departments of State, Defense, Energy, Transportation, Agriculture, and the EPA. Monsanto is reportedly one of the corporations working with the government agencies, but corporate involvement likely involves a multiplicity of large chemcial companies.

In its report on geo-engineering, the Intel Hub reported that the budget for the experiments--paid with tax dollars--exceeds one billion dollars per year. Private funding for the program includes gifts from moguls such as Bill Gates, among others.

Although the theory of 'man-made global warming,' or anthropogenic climate change, has been discredited and debunked as fraudulent, advocates for centralized government control over human activity continue to push for broad, draconian measures that would change our way of life. The United Nations, for example, continues to advocate for a global 'carbon tax' to supposedly offset the carbon pollution created by industrialized nations. Such pollutants, it is claimed, are contributing to the accelerated warming of the earth's surface.

But in the Fall of 2009 such a theory was exposed as entirely fraudulent. Just prior to the U.N.'s Copenhagen summit on climate change, explosive news hit the global community indicating that it had been duped by unscrupulous 'scientists' with an agenda--create mass hysteria over a non-existent phenomenon in order to provide the 'solution,' which of course would be mandated changes in transportation, energy consumption, along with the money-making concept of 'carbon exchanges' that would pad the pockets of climate-change salesmen such as Al Gore, Barack Obama, and a number of investors in the now defunct 'Chicago Climate Exchange.'

It turned out that the concept of man-made global warming was not based on extensive scientific research but upon a theory presented in a Master's Degree thesis paper published in a non-scientific journal. Investigators also discovered that temperature gauges had been moved from colder areas to warmer ones, and some were even placed directly behind air conditioning exhaust units on the rooftops of buildings located in some of the warmest areas of the country.

Major newspapers across the globe reported that some of the U.N.'s top climate scientists had lied about the evidence for such a theory.

Nonetheless, those who are determined to bring about centralized government control in order to micro-manage the lives of citizens continue to push the myth of anthropogenic global warming, along with their prescriptions for dealing with it. And the use of chemicals to manipulate the climate is one of those prescriptions.

Many citizens claim that the chemicals are making them sick. Others claim that the chemicals are deadly to human life. Still others say that the use of these chemicals are killing wildlife, including birds, fish, and other susceptible species.

In a curious footnote, none other than Obama appointee John Holdren is one of the key players in this plan. As Director of Science and Technology and Special Assistant to the President, Holdren has advocated for a 'planetary regime' that would oversee global population control and the use of natural resources. He has also advocated for forced sterilization, mandated abortions, and other ominous concepts that would make the freedom of the individual a thing of the past and usher in a brave new world where a centralized government complex would micro-manage every aspect of human life right down to whether or not one is allowed to have children and how much energy one can consume.

Thus, climate manipulation is merely one piece in a concerted power-grab by those who look with disdain upon individual liberty.

Note: I am not offering any medical advice or diagnosis with the presentation of this information. I am acting solely as an independent researcher providing the results of extended observation and analysis of unusual biological conditions that are evident. It can now be shown with conviction that environmental filament samples and the filaments that are characteristic of the "Morgellons" condition are of one and the same nature. This has been demonstrated visually at the microscopic level on two prior occasions (please see An Environmental Source and The Breath of a Decade) but there has been a reluctance on the part of the general public to engage in the truths of this issue.

The case that they are of one and the same nature can and is also now being made analytically through the use of spectral analysis. This paper will progress through a series of spectral analyses that have been made, both on the control side as well as on the investigative side. The end conclusion that is reached from the work is that at least one source of the so-called "Morgellons" condition has been identified. The fact that this traces itself to a repeatedly occurring environmental sample represents, from my perspective, the worst crime in human history. There have been repeated attempts to have the full nature of these environmental samples dislosed throughout the last decade but they have failed. The primary party that is responsible for the failure of the identification and disclosure is the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

The general public will at one point or another confront and reconcile with this reality, no matter how difficult the prospect will be. Progress in addressing the seriousness of the problem is not going to take place until this recognition by the public does take place. However unfortunate the task, this researcher will continue to put forth the evidence that forces this confrontation to the point of understanding.

Let us now proceed with the work that is to be described.

Through the course of the last year, a Beckman dual-beam spectrophotometer has been acquired under the auspices of the Carnicom Institute. It has been put to introductory use through the course of last year and familiarity with the capablilities and the principles of the instrument has been acquired. There remains a need for much additional equipment, a facility and a more contemporary version of the current spectrophotometer but some progress has taken place nevertheless. The current project involves the calibration of the spectrometer through a series of controlled studies and then the application of the instrument to unique and unidentified biological entitiies.

The Beckman model that has been acquired is rather elderly, and is based on tube technology. All tubes have been replaced and control studies have been completed to give a reference point on the serviceablility and the reliability of the instrument. These tests have been passed with sufficient confidence and the results of these tests will be presented first in this discussion.

The first problem is to acquire known spectral analyses and to see if the results can be duplicated with the equipment at hand. Spectral analysis is its own profession deserving of sufficient staff and resources, but the principles of operation and result are not so difficult that they cannot be understood by the majority of us. Levels of refinement in the process can continue as the understanding of the need for further support avails itself to the cause.

The first example chosen will be a spectral analysis of human blood, or hemoglobin as the case may be. This was one of the early studies in the application of the instrument and a level of confidence in those early results was achieved some time ago. Let us look at such a chart:

Past medical testing on humans revealed

ATLANTA – Shocking as it may seem, U.S. government doctors once thought it was fine to experiment on disabled people and prison inmates. Such experiments included giving hepatitis to mental patients in Connecticut, squirting a pandemic flu virus up the noses of prisoners in Maryland, and injecting cancer cells into chronically ill people at a New York hospital.

Much of this horrific history is 40 to 80 years old, but it is the backdrop for a meeting in Washington this week by a presidential bioethics commission. The meeting was triggered by the government's apology last fall for federal doctors infecting prisoners and mental patients in Guatemala with syphilis 65 years ago.

U.S. officials also acknowledged there had been dozens of similar experiments in the United States — studies that often involved making healthy people sick.

An exhaustive review by The Associated Press of medical journal reports and decades-old press clippings found more than 40 such studies. At best, these were a search for lifesaving treatments; at worst, some amounted to curiosity-satisfying experiments that hurt people but provided no useful results.

Inevitably, they will be compared to the well-known Tuskegee syphilis study. In that episode, U.S health officials tracked 600 black men in Alabama who already had syphilis but didn't give them adequate treatment even after penicillin became available.

These studies were worse in at least one respect — they violated the concept of "first do no harm," a fundamental medical principle that stretches back centuries.

"When you give somebody a disease — even by the standards of their time — you really cross the key ethical norm of the profession," said Arthur Caplan, director of the University of Pennsylvania's Center for Bioethics.

Some of these studies, mostly from the 1940s to the '60s, apparently were never covered by news media. Others were reported at the time, but the focus was on the promise of enduring new cures, while glossing over how test subjects were treated.

Attitudes about medical research were different then. Infectious diseases killed many more people years ago, and doctors worked urgently to invent and test cures. Many prominent researchers felt it was legitimate to experiment on people who did not have full rights in society — people like prisoners, mental patients, poor blacks. It was an attitude in some ways similar to that of Nazi doctors experimenting on Jews.

"There was definitely a sense — that we don't have today — that sacrifice for the nation was important," said Laura Stark, a Wesleyan University assistant professor of science in society, who is writing a book about past federal medical experiments.

The AP review of past research found:

_A federally funded study begun in 1942 injected experimental flu vaccine in male patients at a state insane asylum in Ypsilanti, Mich., then exposed them to flu several months later. It was co-authored by Dr. Jonas Salk, who a decade later would become famous as inventor of the polio vaccine.

Some of the men weren't able to describe their symptoms, raising serious questions about how well they understood what was being done to them. One newspaper account mentioned the test subjects were "senile and debilitated." Then it quickly moved on to the promising results.

_In federally funded studies in the 1940s, noted researcher Dr. W. Paul Havens Jr. exposed men to hepatitis in a series of experiments, including one using patients from mental institutions in Middletown and Norwich, Conn. Havens, a World Health Organization expert on viral diseases, was one of the first scientists to differentiate types of hepatitis and their causes.

A search of various news archives found no mention of the mental patients study, which made eight healthy men ill but broke no new ground in understanding the disease.

_Researchers in the mid-1940s studied the transmission of a deadly stomach bug by having young men swallow unfiltered stool suspension. The study was conducted at the New York State Vocational Institution, a reformatory prison in West Coxsackie. The point was to see how well the disease spread that way as compared to spraying the germs and having test subjects breathe it. Swallowing it was a more effective way to spread the disease, the researchers concluded. The study doesn't explain if the men were rewarded for this awful task.

_A University of Minnesota study in the late 1940s injected 11 public service employee volunteers with malaria, then starved them for five days. Some were also subjected to hard labor, and those men lost an average of 14 pounds. They were treated for malarial fevers with quinine sulfate. One of the authors was Ancel Keys, a noted dietary scientist who developed K-rations for the military and the Mediterranean diet for the public. But a search of various news archives found no mention of the study.

_For a study in 1957, when the Asian flu pandemic was spreading, federal researchers sprayed the virus in the noses of 23 inmates at Patuxent prison in Jessup, Md., to compare their reactions to those of 32 virus-exposed inmates who had been given a new vaccine.

_Government researchers in the 1950s tried to infect about two dozen volunteering prison inmates with gonorrhea using two different methods in an experiment at a federal penitentiary in Atlanta. The bacteria was pumped directly into the urinary tract through the penis, according to their paper.

The men quickly developed the disease, but the researchers noted this method wasn't comparable to how men normally got infected — by having sex with an infected partner. The men were later treated with antibiotics. The study was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association but there was no mention of it in various news archives.

Though people in the studies were usually described as volunteers, historians and ethicists have questioned how well these people understood what was to be done to them and why, or whether they were coerced.

Prisoners have long been victimized for the sake of science. In 1915, the U.S. government's Dr. Joseph Goldberger — today remembered as a public health hero — recruited Mississippi inmates to go on special rations to prove his theory that the painful illness pellagra was caused by a dietary deficiency. (The men were offered pardons for their participation.)

But studies using prisoners were uncommon in the first few decades of the 20th century, and usually performed by researchers considered eccentric even by the standards of the day. One was Dr. L.L. Stanley, resident physician at San Quentin prison in California, who around 1920 attempted to treat older, "devitalized men" by implanting in them testicles from livestock and from recently executed convicts.

Newspapers wrote about Stanley's experiments, but the lack of outrage is striking.

"Enter San Quentin penitentiary in the role of the Fountain of Youth — an institution where the years are made to roll back for men of failing mentality and vitality and where the spring is restored to the step, wit to the brain, vigor to the muscles and ambition to the spirit. All this has been done, is being done ... by a surgeon with a scalpel," began one rosy report published in November 1919 in The Washington Post.

Around the time of World War II, prisoners were enlisted to help the war effort by taking part in studies that could help the troops. For example, a series of malaria studies at Stateville Penitentiary in Illinois and two other prisons was designed to test antimalarial drugs that could help soldiers fighting in the Pacific.

It was at about this time that prosecution of Nazi doctors in 1947 led to the "Nuremberg Code," a set of international rules to protect human test subjects. Many U.S. doctors essentially ignored them, arguing that they applied to Nazi atrocities — not to American medicine.

The late 1940s and 1950s saw huge growth in the U.S. pharmaceutical and health care industries, accompanied by a boom in prisoner experiments funded by both the government and corporations. By the 1960s, at least half the states allowed prisoners to be used as medical guinea pigs.

But two studies in the 1960s proved to be turning points in the public's attitude toward the way test subjects were treated.

The first came to light in 1963. Researchers injected cancer cells into 19 old and debilitated patients at a Jewish Chronic Disease Hospital in the New York borough of Brooklyn to see if their bodies would reject them.

The hospital director said the patients were not told they were being injected with cancer cells because there was no need — the cells were deemed harmless. But the experiment upset a lawyer named William Hyman who sat on the hospital's board of directors. The state investigated, and the hospital ultimately said any such experiments would require the patient's written consent.

At nearby Staten Island, from 1963 to 1966, a controversial medical study was conducted at the Willowbrook State School for children with mental retardation. The children were intentionally given hepatitis orally and by injection to see if they could then be cured with gamma globulin.

Those two studies — along with the Tuskegee experiment revealed in 1972 — proved to be a "holy trinity" that sparked extensive and critical media coverage and public disgust, said Susan Reverby, the Wellesley College historian who first discovered records of the syphilis study in Guatemala.

By the early 1970s, even experiments involving prisoners were considered scandalous. In widely covered congressional hearings in 1973, pharmaceutical industry officials acknowledged they were using prisoners for testing because they were cheaper than chimpanzees.

Holmesburg Prison in Philadelphia made extensive use of inmates for medical experiments. Some of the victims are still around to talk about it. Edward "Yusef" Anthony, featured in a book about the studies, says he agreed to have a layer of skin peeled off his back, which was coated with searing chemicals to test a drug. He did that for money to buy cigarettes in prison.

"I said 'Oh my God, my back is on fire! Take this ... off me!'" Anthony said in an interview with The Associated Press, as he recalled the beginning of weeks of intense itching and agonizing pain.

The government responded with reforms. Among them: The U.S. Bureau of Prisons in the mid-1970s effectively excluded all research by drug companies and other outside agencies within federal prisons.

As the supply of prisoners and mental patients dried up, researchers looked to other countries.

It made sense. Clinical trials could be done more cheaply and with fewer rules. And it was easy to find patients who were taking no medication, a factor that can complicate tests of other drugs.

Additional sets of ethical guidelines have been enacted, and few believe that another Guatemala study could happen today. "It's not that we're out infecting anybody with things," Caplan said.

Still, in the last 15 years, two international studies sparked outrage.

One was likened to Tuskegee. U.S.-funded doctors failed to give the AIDS drug AZT to all the HIV-infected pregnant women in a study in Uganda even though it would have protected their newborns. U.S. health officials argued the study would answer questions about AZT's use in the developing world.

The other study, by Pfizer Inc., gave an antibiotic named Trovan to children with meningitis in Nigeria, although there were doubts about its effectiveness for that disease. Critics blamed the experiment for the deaths of 11 children and the disabling of scores of others. Pfizer settled a lawsuit with Nigerian officials for $75 million but admitted no wrongdoing.

Last year, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' inspector general reported that between 40 and 65 percent of clinical studies of federally regulated medical products were done in other countries in 2008, and that proportion probably has grown. The report also noted that U.S. regulators inspected fewer than 1 percent of foreign clinical trial sites.

Monitoring research is complicated, and rules that are too rigid could slow new drug development. But it's often hard to get information on international trials, sometimes because of missing records and a paucity of audits, said Dr. Kevin Schulman, a Duke Universtity professor of medicine who has written on the ethics of international studies.

These issues were still being debated when, last October, the Guatemala study came to light.

In the 1946-48 study, American scientists infected prisoners and patients in a mental hospital in Guatemala with syphilis, apparently to test whether penicillin could prevent some sexually transmitted disease. The study came up with no useful information and was hidden for decades.

The Guatemala study nauseated ethicists on multiple levels. Beyond infecting patients with a terrible illness, it was clear that people in the study did not understand what was being done to them or were not able to give their consent. Indeed, though it happened at a time when scientists were quick to publish research that showed frank disinterest in the rights of study participants, this study was buried in file drawers.

"It was unusually unethical, even at the time," said Stark, the Wesleyan researcher.

"When the president was briefed on the details of the Guatemalan episode, one of his first questions was whether this sort of thing could still happen today," said Rick Weiss, a spokesman for the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.

That it occurred overseas was an opening for the Obama administration to have the bioethics panel seek a new evaluation of international medical studies. The president also asked the Institute of Medicine to further probe the Guatemala study, but the IOM relinquished the assignment in November, after reporting its own conflict of interest: In the 1940s, five members of one of the IOM's sister organizations played prominent roles in federal syphilis research and had links to the Guatemala study.

So the bioethics commission gets both tasks. To focus on federally funded international studies, the commission has formed an international panel of about a dozen experts in ethics, science and Clinical research. Regarding the look at the Guatemala study, the commission has hired 15 staff investigators and is working with additional historians and other consulting experts.

The panel is to send a report to Obama by September. Any further steps would be up to the administration.

Some experts say that given such a tight deadline, it would be a surprise if the commission produced substantive new information about past studies. "They face a really tough challenge," Caplan said.

STOP IT WITH THE CHEMTRAILS, OK?

In a recent installment of The Editor's Desk, I tried to ease the fevered mind of a reader who was worried that high-altitude condensation caused by jet exhaust, which sometimes lingers and spreads across the sky, is actually some sort of chemical expulsion intended to harm the American populace in some unspecified way.

I pointed the reader to research showing the so-called "chemtrails" are a natural consequence of jet exhaust expelled under certain meteorological conditions. Apparently, it didn't take. Recently, this reader sent me a link to a story on The Intel Hub, a conspiracy-fueled website, in which it was pointed out that there were no chemtrails seen over a recent California golf tournament because "the elite LOVE golf" and nobody wanted to be spraying them with chemicals.

Earlier, I'd received an e-mail from someone who confessed that "these contrails that persist and spread into low level cirrus clouds are a real puzzle to me. If it was just normal exhaust from aircraft, and/or air pollution (anthropogenic aerosols) one would expect the entire airspace around ATL/Hartsfield to be covered in clouds all the time."

Look - I don't mind y'all sending me this kind of stuff. What I'm worried about is that you'll start sending it to Executive Editor Melissa Hanna, whose fascination with another conspiracy-laced issue - news stories of unexplained cow mutilations - has led her to the unassailably logical conclusion that extraterrestrials are coming to Earth and disassembling our bovine friends for some nefarious purpose.

Add a few e-mails about chemtrails to a few more actual news stories about cows being sliced up somewhere other than the grocery store, and before you know it, the bosslady will have the newsroom staff monitoring the skies above Athens daily, not to mean having us chase down every black Chevy Suburban spotted on the streets, and sitting up nights watching for mysterious lights in the sky.
